Our Community Partners

This endeavor would not be possible without the support, input and enthusiasm from the community, our partners, in this important effort. Our goal is to create a thriving, diverse hub that serves the needs of the Greater Mondawmin community and beyond.

We look forward to moving this effort forward with the guidance and teamwork from our valuable partners!

A Historic Project in the Making

The former Target store at Mondawmin Mall is being reimagined and given new life as The Village at Mondawmin. This is made possible by the collective efforts of various community organizations and cofounder of TouchPoint Baltimore, Whiting-Turner Contracting Company president and chief executive officer Tim Regan, who personally purchased the vacant building for this purpose.

Meant to revitalize the eight West Baltimore neighborhoods that comprise the Mondawmin community, TouchPoint Baltimore currently houses two local nonprofits in Mondawmin Mall, their temporary home. Those nonprofits include Thread, which coaches and supports high-need high school students, and Baltimore Corps, which works to advance social innovation in the city. These and other community and business organizations will ultimately move to the new space once construction is complete.

The Village at Mondawmin is working in coordination with a host of community partners to best assess the needs of the surrounding community. The development will offer retail space for entrepreneurs and spaces for tutoring, mentoring and job training programs courtesy of the nearby Center for Urban Families, an expanded TouchPoint Baltimore, senior care and day care services, and more.

Critical Investment in Our Neighborhood

"This project represents a critical investment in our neighborhood and resolves widely held concerns about the future of a prominent local landmark that has sat empty for years. This commitment to Mondawmin and our neighbors speaks to the area’s potential for continued growth. This will be a transformational project for West Baltimore."

- Adeline Hutchinson, President of the Greater Mondawmin Coordinating Council
